The Russian folk tale of the firebird - I'm a sucker for fairy tales and such. Anyhow, it started out watercolor, but I ended up finishing the colors and adding the tree bark in photoshop. Lately I've gotten tired of looking at a computer screen, so here's to getting back to paints and all that jazz in '07...
Speaking of which, Happy New Year to everyone!!!
*Alex Steinweiss - Produced a ton of album art throughout the 40's and 50's that's just amazing. His use of color and lettering are top-notch. Scroll down past the diagrams of the die-cuts for the really neat stuff.

I love this. The Firebird(both folktale and Stravinsky's version) is one of my favorites! Well done!
Ditto exactly what liz said! I like your Firebird and Stravinsky's, too. :)
Lovely. I really like the firebird. The ideas with the girl's dress and the tree bark are also great.
It's really beautiful! I love the style and combination of techniques! I am a sucker for any piece with text in it.
