Illustration Friday - Tales and Legends

"'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves..."

I couldn't pass up on this Illustration Friday; "The Jabberwocky" came to mind, so I drew this at lunch today and added some texture in photoshop tonight (old book end papers for inquiring minds).

This is amazing, I love the hair, it looks really different for you, it reminds me of some mid century american illustration. Beautiful.

Excelente dibujo!!
La actitud del personaje y su largo cuello le dan a esta ilustración un aire muy romántico...

One can never go wrong with Carroll. :) I think the book end papers add great texture. Very nice work.

oh my goodness, I LOVE "Jabberwocky"!! In junior high, when everyone had to memorize a poem, I chose this one and haven't looked back. 'Twas brillig, as they say. And this is a wonderful representation! I love the determined look in our hero's face.

ooo, it's beautiful. It almost looks like it has ben made using one of those tiny burning pens on a piece of wood - timeless.

I love the nape of his neck curving into the lovely shape of the back of his head. So elegant.

Thanks!

I actually was trying to use some more of the techniques Andrew Loomis mentions in his books (treating the hair as more of a flowing shape, rather than something stiff).
