The Jane Austen Extravaganza on Masterpiece Theatre has made my winter. The stellar part is that through some delightful fluke of the cable gods we pick up the Boston, New Hampshire, and Maine affiliates, meaning that I can catch the episodes on multiple days!
Anyhow, there's one part mid-way through "Pride and Prejudice" where Elizabeth is examining a collection of miniatures and I was thinking of that looking at this photo. I've been working on some tiny portrait pendants and the above is one of them. I have a bit of a weakness for making very tiny things, so these necklaces were right up my alley. And speaking of miniatures, Artists and Ancestors is a terrific blog that features miniature portraits.
Other likes and loves:
*Tazo Orange Tea (Tazo has a pretty spiffy site, some fun bells and whistles)
*Etsy on Martha Stewart's show this Friday
*Alison Krauss and Robert Plant. About an unusual a pairing as you can find, but a delightful listen

It must take patience to work so small. Love the little portrait.
I caught the first few weeks of the Jane Austen series, but have missed the last few. I LOVED Northanger Abbey, I think even more than the book itself.
Your little portrait is beautiful! Are you going to be selling those in your Etsy shop?
I haven't read Northanger Abbey yet; sounds like I should!
And yes, I'm putting the necklaces in my Etsy shop :-)
I love that little portrait pendant you made. So sweet and lovely!!
I love this little thing...I would so buy one...are you selling them?
yay! so psyched they're going in the etsy shop-- can't wait (hope i didn't miss them already)
did you like Miss Austen Regrets? I was strangely disappointed by it...i prefer the adaptations of the books!
I didn't catch "Miss Austen Regrets." I agree too - it seems best when Masterpiece Theatre sticks to adaptations instead of new material.
This is beautiful! I love it and want one!! HEE HEE
