Accidents happen - particularly when running prints for my Etsy shop. The random ink splotch here, alignment a little wonky there; you get the picture. What's a girl to do then with an assorted amount of otherwise nice prints? Host a giveaway!
So here's the deal: the winner gets a package from me containing about a half dozen prints of varying sizes. All of the prints are top notch quality, but have been trimmed down to get rid of any imperfections. Frame 'em, use them as bookmarks, stick one on your fridge, the choice is up to you. I'll also add in a few assorted extras (paper, old postage stamps, etc.) if that's your cup of tea.
The details:
*All you have to do is leave a comment between now and Saturday, November 15. Recommend a good page turner. Post a link to the best recipe for chocolate pudding. Offer a music suggestion. Your call.
*No restrictions on your locale: I'll ship to Beantown or Bolivia, or any place in between. South Pole, I don't think it'll work so well for you though.
*After that, I'll choose one of the comments randomly, contact you via email for your address and away your brand spankin' new prints go.
Easy as pie, huh?

I adore your work and I hope it's not selfish of me, but I would love a chance to win this sweet little package :)
And I"ll drop a music recommendation just for fun: Bess Rogers :)
I love your work, what a thoughtful idea.
I recommend this little unknown band...watch their video

so i'm greedy. i know i already own some of your work but how could i pass up the chance at more?!
without further ado.
my most recent favorite song is this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93OTv6Cjk6U
And a few great books:
Mystery:
The Last Kashmiri Rose by Barbara Cleverly
Sweetness:
The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery (something tells me you've probably already read it)
Profound and lovely:
Miss Garnet's Angel by Sally Vickers
I so love your work and have a few of your prints on my very long wish list. Your style is beautiful! I'd love the chance to win some prints; they'd go lovely in my children's rooms.
My recommendations: Basia Bulat - totally beautifully poetic - just like your art! (check out http://www.myspace.com/basiamyspace)
Three great books: I am half way through Eat Love Pray by Elizabeth Gilbert. It is pretty good so far. I also love Fortunes Rocks by Anita Shreve. Very moving. And Educating Alice, by Alice Steinbeck - great travel memoir!
Thanks so much for this opportunity to win such beautiful works!
woo hoo! maybe this will be the one time i win a random drawing! i love your art!
here's a link to my new favorite recipe - (nothing fancy - just tuna casserole, but i tried it this week and it's going to be on regular rotation at my house from now on) - http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Easy-Tuna-Casserole/Detail.aspx
What a fun giveaway! I'll recommend a few fun picture books with wonderful illustrations, since I'm an illustrator: Toot & Puddle books by Holly Hobbie, Pssst! by Adam Rex, and Flight of the Dodo by Peter Brown. All superbly written and illustrated.
I always recommend Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. No one is allowed to interrupt me while I'm reading it; at least that' what I'd like to have happen.
As I love your work the only thing I can say is that it's a great idea :)
As for music, I can recommend something I've found through another flickr user. I must say it's totally not what I usually listen to, but it's this kind of song you play again and again and again... ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIBQU_Tmf0Q
And one more, more my thing, this time from film score: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUPRl3rELg0
As for books, if you like tales, fantasy and ironic, mischievous humour, I'd recommend Terry Pratchett's books - any of them really.
I love your work so I would love for a chance to win one of your prints :D
and I'll be recommending a simple book by Lois Lowry called The Giver (http://www.amazon.com/Giver-Lois-Lowry/dp/0440237688). It's one of my favorites; it's actually a book for young adolescents but its semi-philosophical and thought-provoking story appeals to adults as well :)
Nice idea.
I would recommend an Icelandic band Sea bear.

Your work is wonderfully inspiring.
We just received the nominees for the NC Children's Book Award. Rules, by Cynthia Lord, is inspiring and it made me cry. (It takes powerful writing to do that!)
well, you know by now that I love everything you do.
count me in!
i also love every song that these people have ever sung: The Clarks and Julian Velard
(you can google 'em or visit my blog for the links)

Ooh, hurray! I'm going to make a local food recommendation! If you like sweet, fall-ish things to eat, go to Terra Cotta Pasta and try their Butternut Squash/Sweet Potato Ravioli, with their Maple Cream sauce. It's absolutely a delicious combination! Hope you're having a nice day!
Wow, can't resist that! :D And of course, when you said "pie" the first thing I thought of was an apple pie recipe that Alicia Paulson posted on her blog awhile ago. It's my goal to make it at least once this season. It looks yummy! http://rosylittlethings.typepad.com/posie_gets_cozy/2008/10/sour-cream-appl.html
My goodness, aren't you popular with this post? Makes me want to do a giveaway to smoke out any lurkers. :)

The whole link doesn't seem to have made it through in my last comment, so I've broken it up into lines. Hope this one works!
P.S. Love the characters here! I'm going to pretend their names are Albus and Lily Potter, progeny of a redheaded girl with a penchant for quirky patterns and a boy with glasses and hair that just wouldn't lay flat. Anyone? :)

As for books, I've been on a James Rollins kick lately, but being a grammar junkie and a fan of Mignon Fogarty, I've been recommending her book Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing to everyone. She also has a weekly podcast.

I hope you find something you like. Thanks!

http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/18723/traditional+shortbread
Have a wonderful week.

Robyn
What a great giveaway!
I wish I were more up on things to recommend. I'm not on the cutting edge of music, or books, or anything. I'm currently reading The Brothers Karamazov - which is amazing but I don't know that I would call it a "page-turner." ;) I'm pretty excited about this book which was released today and is on its way to me now - but I have no idea if you knit or not. And I'm psyched about craftivism in general (including Amanda Soule's new project at mamatomama.org.
Oh, and for a yummy-looking recipe, check here . I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to soon.
Exciting giveaway!
It will have to be a music suggestion as right now I think the coolest man in the world is CW Stoneking.

Keep up the fantastic work.
I always adore some Enya, some hot chocolate and raising bagel with cream cheese. Simple but hits the spot.

Movie recommendation: The Fall.
It is amazing.
I recommend the knitting book "Vintage Knits" by the Rowan Staff. You can find it for about $7-ish these days and it is filled with beautiful, classic patterns... All the stuff you want to run across in 2nd hand stores and such.
There's a crocheted shawl in there, too, that's just stunning.
