Tendrils

I like fabric pens. I like yellow flowers. I also really like Yogi Green Tea because it feels like I'm attempting something vaguely healthy. In turn, I feel less guilty about obsessing over the ice cream sandwiches in the fridge. And listening to The Osmonds....*

And here's a bit of good news: I'm a finalist in the Etsy Hand-Made Kid's Challenge. There's some nifty crafts and art featured over there, so check it out!

"I Can't Run + I Can't Kick"

The week has been one including plenty of potato salad, family visits, Johnny Cash tunes, outdoor theatre, and wild blackberries. It should also be a week of getting my car inspected, but that's slightly less inspiring.

Red Ribbons

There's some Pre-Raphaelite curls for you. I'd be pretty psyched if my hair was that accommodating.

Oh, and The Dark Knight is swell - two thumbs up. I'm not much of a superhero movie fan, but this one was stupendous. And I didn't regret paying for a nighttime ticket price + box of Reese's pieces.

Having seen Austin Maloney's terrific "The Office" cast portraits, I couldn't resist taking a shot at some Dunder-Mifflin doodles to warm up with today.

Crashing Waves

Throughout my childhood and teens, I used to spend the occasional night over at my grandparents. They live in a town in New Hampshire that's properly speaking an island, but with the connecting causeway, it really just feels like an extension of the mainland.* One of my favorite things about sleeping over at their place (aside from trips out for ice cream), was the sound the foghorn made at night.

Incidentally, my house growing up was near railroad tracks, so between fog horns and trains, I've developed the amazing ability to sleep through pretty much anything.



And these were picked to add some color to any otherwise dreary day. Darn rain.

*Yup, New Hampshire has a coastline.
