Things that I've meant to write about, but keep forgetting. Consistently.

*I get a lot of emails regarding illustrating digitally. If this is your cup of tea, I highly recommend perusing the tutorials over at Dani Jones's website. Clear, concise, with some terrific step-by-steps, she explains digital illustration far better than I could, ever. A phenomenal resource, no doubt about it.

*My former co-workers (and orange aficionados par excellence) at Vital Design have a blog covering all sorts of design goodness. I give it three thumbs up.

*Naive: Modernism and Folklore in Contemporary Graphic Design is stupendous. I found it at the bookstore last week and kind of sort of fell in love. The illustrations in there are a real treat to gaze at.

And I think that's all the news that's fit to print. Oh, and I'm realizing that I need to tweak out my blog template as hyperlinks are not displaying correctly in Safari (they're in the posts - hover over them if need be, they'll pop up, they're just not displaying an alternate color). Darn you technology.

Slightly-Annual Giveaway In Progress

Time for a giveaway!

It's Thanksgiving here in a few weeks and in a spirit of gratitude, I'd like to say thanks to all the swell folks who read this.

And what am I giving away? Odds and ends, this and that, everything but the kitchen sink basically. Definitely a silkscreen, some ACEO sized prints, vintage paper, et cetera, et cetera.

Here's the details:

1) To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment. Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to let me know something you really, really, really like. Maybe it's your favorite recipe. Or an album you think everyone on the planet should listen to. Or the book that kept you up reading until the wee hours of the morning. Knock yourself out.

2) I'll take entries up until 11:59 PM Sunday November 16 (EST).

3) No geographic restrictions; I'll mail both stateside and abroad.

4) The winning entry will be chosen Monday November 17 using the random number generator over here. I learned my lesson last year; no more cutting up teeny tiny pieces of paper.

5) I'll announce the winner Monday evening. Cross your fingers.

Staying busy, working hard, drinking too much coffee. Pretty much status quo.
