To counter the aforementioned, I am drinking chamomile tea and re-reading "A Wrinkle In Time." I'm once again falling in love with the story and it's just as good as I remember. My sole quibble is that Calvin O'Keefe seems a bit too good to be true for a 14 year old boy, but I'll let that slide. And Camazotz? Still gives me chills.
So here's a Meg Murry sketch. And sorry for the recent lack of posts; things should start picking up again around here real soon-ish.

AYE! Sheesh! That germ thing has got to stop. I'm with you on that.
Abbie!
I seriously was thinking last night how much I would love to see your sketches/ interpretations of favorite childhood books. LOVE this one. I think I will have to come up with a list of other books that you HAVE to do some illustrations for... meanwhile any way I could get a copy of this one?
Cathleen :)
PS I totally agree with you about Calvin- but then again I totally was in love with him when I was 13...
Love a Wrinkle In Time. And yes Calvin does seem to good for a teenage boy.
Ohmygosh Cathleen, you TOTALLY need to come up with a list for me and I'll take a stab at that. Also, you want a high-res file for this one?
If you haven't yet, you should read last year's Newbery winner, Rebecca Stead's When You Reach Me. It's a sort of homage to A Wrinkle in Time.
sure that would be great! I'm working at a printers so I can print it out here. Still working on the list, this is what I've come up with so far: From the mixed up files of Mrs Basil E frankweiler, The Giver, Little House on the Prairie (you HAVE to do one for that :) Little Women, The Secret Garden... that's it so far :)
nice drawing...i like it....
I just stumbled across your blog and really enjoyed seeing your artwork! This picture makes me remember how much I love that book, though I haven't read it in ages--maybe I'll find some time this snowy afternoon. :)
