A Bit of Impossibility

Want to read about my work process, favorite childhood books and why I'll never become an entomologist? If the answer is yes, then you might want to check out today's Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast.

Lovely interview! I really enjoyed reading your responses and learning about your process. Also, I don't remember seeing the treehouse-dwelling violinist illustration before, and I absolutely love it! All of the details are so charming, particularly the girl sweeping the leaves in the background.

GREAT interview! I particularly enjoy that "What the French Toast!" is your favorite thing to use as a curse, because it's so ridiculously cute and you ANNNNND I love that you would like God to say "Regular or decaf." Of course you would - perfect!

What a terrific interview! I love your idea about The Westing Game. It's my favorite children's book (and maybe favorite book, period?) It seems to be universally admired but never seems to get the good cover art treatment. I dream of being able to do a cover illustration for it someday, but a graphic novel would just be the bee's knees, too.

And I adore The Mysteries of Harris Burdick. I thought I might be the only one.
