If you have the slightest interest in Dystopian imagery, might I recommend the following video? Having watched that, all I want to do is draw Post-Apocalyptic teenagers engaged in battles against tyranny.

Bustling with activity in these here parts, so sorry for the quietness. Also, I just started playing Angry Birds, so you know how that goes (just kidding -- sort of). Anyhow, I do have something nifty to post about next week, so stay tuned!

Spring Cleaning

Hey, I actually cleaned my workspace! I'm crazy busy right now, but there's only so many inches of dust you can handle before it starts getting kind of annoying. So, from left to right, the only houseplant I've ever managed to keep alive, a doll made with fabric markers and recycled sheets, paintbrushes, pens (in a tea tin from college) and colored pencils. The crocheted stone is from this tutorial if you're feeling particularly crafty.

Also, there's a new book trailer for "The Melancholic Mermaid" up and it features some pretty nifty animation, so mosey on over there.

The Ghost of Bobby Dunbar

I was listening to "The Ghost of Bobby Dunbar" episode of This American Life while working yesterday. Equal parts mystery and family drama, it's quite the story. Not to give away the whole plot, but there's a part where the main character attempts to solve the question of his lineage, visiting a store in a neighboring town with trepidation and curiosity. Anyhow, that fueled the above sketch.

Beehive

She was supposed to be a Joan Holloway redhead, but instead ended up with a Strawberry Shortcake coiffure (the result of a lack of cad red in the mix). Strangely enough though, I think I like her better with these technicolor tresses.
