Warp and Weft

Growing up in the shadow of so many abandoned textile mills results in an inevitable fascination with these mammoth structures, the people employed therein and the miles and miles of fabric they wove.

At least that's what's floating around my head/filling up my sketchbook today, looking for a story bound up in all of those literal/metaphorical threads.

I think maybe you're near me in New England. I just read "Bread and Roses", a children's book about the Women's strike in the Lowell, MA mills. It's worth reading. :)
